The sensation of taste on the palate of the mouth from pleasant-tasting or acceptable food.

  • palatability

    The sensation of taste on the palate of the mouth from pleasant-tasting or acceptable food.

  • percent discount

    Amount that the promoted price drops below the regular price, expressed as a percentage. Calculated as (Base Price–Promoted Price)/Base Price. A higher number means a deeper discount. A deeper discount for the same tactic almost always results in a higher lift. percent Discount is available by merchandising tactic on custom databases.

  • allowance

    Monies offered by a manufacturer or his representative to a wholesale or retail customer, as an inducement for specific support on one or more products. Generally, requires specific performance within a designated period of time, i.e., advertising, display, price reduction, or purchase of product(s), or a combination of the above. Allowances can take the form of “promotional allowance”, “advertising allowance”, “display allowance”, “buying allowance”.

  • repeat rate

    Percent of exposed buyers who make an additional purchase within the cycle window.

  • manufacturer’s store

    A retail store owned and operated by a manufacturer, sometimes as an outlet for his goods, sometimes primarily for experimental or publicity purposes.
