backstock
Extra products stored in a backroom to restock shelves between deliveries.

microwave oven
An oven that cooks foods quickly using microwaves.

scanner
An electronic checking mechanism that reads the Universal Product Code (UPC) and translates it into item description and price. When connected to an electronic cash register, it also records the sale automatically.

kick plate (base)
A metal sheet, usually at the bottom of doors, for protection purposes.

own label
Product brands owned and marketed by retailers for sale in their own stores. Also known as store brand or private label brands.
