Topic: Assessing dairy sustainability: what you need to know, and how it can support your sourcing and food waste management goals
Speaker: Erin Fitzgerald, Senior Vice President, Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy
Sourcing more sustainable products reduces supply chain risk and meets consumer demand for products that are not only good for them, but good for the environment. When it comes to dairy, a key category for food retail, how do you know what’s sustainable and what’s not?
The dairy industry, a key category for food retail, has taken the lead on measurement tools and communication resources that can be used by retailers, dairy plants and dairy farms to credibly measure and communicate progress to support your sustainable sourcing programs.
Through the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, the industry has also developed a portfolio of projects to deliver business and environmental benefits to dairy farms, plants and retailers. This includes a collaborative business model for dairy digesters that has the potential to divert 15 million tons of organic waste from landfills, improve nutrient recovery and reduce costs—potentially transforming the operations and financial rewards of food waste disposal.
If you want to know about how dairy can advance your sustainable sourcing and environmental programs, then this webinar is for you. This Webinar will be of interest to corporate responsibility and sustainability personnel, category managers and buyers, and operations and logistics personnel. Please share this information with others in your company.
