Invitation
You are invited to participate in a workshop in which the ANSI pilot accreditation project of the Food Marketing Institutes Safe Quality Food (SQF) program will be reviewed and procedures established for use by other select accreditation bodies.

The Project
The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) has partnered with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to provide an accreditation service for its Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification program. Under an historic partnership agreement, a joint pilot accreditation project was launched in December 2004. Since this time six certification bodies have participated in an accreditation pilot project in which they have been assessed to provide certification services for the SQF Program. The assessments have been conducted in line with the international and technical standards ISO/IEC 17011 (Conformity assessment - General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies), ISO/IEC Guide 65 - General requirements for bodies operating product certification systems and the Criteria for Certification Bodies - SQF Guidance on the Application of ISO/IEC Guide 65:1996 Edition 5 – November 2005. General Requirements for Certification Bodies Offering Certification of SQF Systems.

Day 1
The ANSI assessment team experience thus far will be shared with pilot program participants and other select accreditation bodies. Certification body participants also will have the opportunity to present their experience, new developments in their certification programs, and prospects for progress.

Day 2
Since the certification body participants have Multi-site operations and clients in many countries, ANSI will take the opportunity to discuss potential cooperative arrangements with peer organizations in select countries. FMI’s goal is to enlist the services of other accreditation bodies to provide an accreditation services for the SQF Program and also conduct witness assessments of other accredited bodies clients.
