Dr. Jay Neal, associate professor at the University of Houston, will discuss the elements of an effective food safety training program to improve employee food safety knowledge and retention that translates to effective behavior. Dr. Jay Neal is an associate professor at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. Dr. Neal teaches undergraduate Food Safety and Sanitation and graduate Food Service Systems. His current research focuses on best practices for deli employees within the retail setting. He also focuses on food handler safety behaviors especially for non-English speaking individuals and developing food safety cultures.
