Please join SafeMark, a comprehensive food safety training program for the retail food industry, for a webinar to explore the role of food safety training in enhancing an organization’s food safety culture. Dr. Jay Neal, associate professor at the University of Houston, will discuss the elements of an effective food safety training program to improve employee food safety knowledge and retention that translates to effective behavior. In the business of food safety, the best protection is prevention, and it begins with the right training program.

Dr. Jay Neal is an associate professor at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. Dr. Neal teaches undergraduate Food Safety and Sanitation and graduate Food Service Systems. His current research focuses on best practices for deli employees within the retail setting. He also focuses on food handler safety behaviors especially for non-English speaking individuals and developing food safety cultures.
