FMI Webinar: Understanding and Preparing for the NLRB’s New Quickie Election Rules

Friday, April 10, 2015 (1pm - 2pm US/Eastern)

The registration period for this meeting has ended.

FMI will be hosting a webinar on Friday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. EDT to provide FMI members with an overview of the National Labor Relation Board's new quickie union election rules. On December 15, 2014, the National Labor Relations Board published its final rule on quickie elections, which will likely make it easier for unions to organize unrepresented employees. The final rule goes into effect on April 14, 2015. A stay of this rule has been requested pending two court cases, but has not yet been granted, so we want you to be prepared.

This webinar will provide practical advice and key recommendations for preparing and understanding the NLRB's new quickie election rules. In addition to changing many filing and paperwork requirements, the final rules provide a shorter time period between a union's filing of a representative petition and the holding of the election, which will result in employers having less time to present their union-free position to employees. Glenn J. Smith, Esq., Office Managing Shareholder of the Littler Newark, NJ office, will provide concise, detailed information to help employers ensure notice and awareness of filed representation petitions (which may now be emailed), what employers are required to do once a petition has been filed, and the requirements of the new election process. In addition, this webinar will provide an overview of the practical impacts of the rule and crucial advice for employers to help them prepare in advance of organizing.
