Please join us on December 13th at 2-3pm EST for an FMI webinar on “Food Labeling 101 for Retailers.” We will be introducing a newly updated resource for FMI members – our Food Labeling Guide for Retailers. FMI’s outside counsel, Brian Eyink and Veronica Colas with Hogan Lovells, will provide an overview of the basic labeling requirements that apply to foods sold in retail grocery stores, from packaged foods to deli items packaged and portioned upon customer request, bulk customer self-service items like an olive bar, and foods prepared in-store. We will also discuss date coding with a focus on FMI and GMA’s model guidelines. This webinar is intended to provide a solid foundation for the more advanced topics covered in the guide, which will be the subject of a separate webinar titled “Food Labeling 201 for Retailers” in early 2019.
