On April 23, 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor issued its final rule to revamp the federal overtime thresholds. In this digital seminar, Jim Paretti, shareholder with the law firm of Littler Mendelson P.C., provides an overview of the final rule and discusses the tiered threshold increases. The final rule increased the standard salary threshold from the current $684 per week or $35,568 per year to $844 per week or $43,888 per year as of July 1, 2024, then further to $1,128 per week or $58,656 per year as of January 1, 2025. The final rule increased the highly compensated total compensation threshold from the current $107,432 per year to $132,964 per year as of July 1, 2024, then further to $151,164 per year as of January 1, 2025.
