“Store managers motivate their staff, increase their customer base and lend a helping hand to their community through creativity, innovation and generosity,” said FMI President and CEO Tim Hammonds. “The Superior Service Awards acknowledge the accomplishments of these exemplary men and women who really make a difference in their store and their communities.”
Store managers or their staff are asked to send in stories of how the manager has excelled in the areas of customer or community service. All in-store managers in the food, mass merchandise and convenience store industries around the world are eligible for the award after one year of employment at the same place of business. FMI received more than 200 entries last year.
All entries will be read and judged by FMI staff and an outside panel of judges, including representatives from awards sponsor Hallmark. Each entry will be scored to select 20 finalists, and those with the top four scores will be the grand prize winners.
The 20 finalists will receive two tickets to the 2004 FMI Show, two tickets to the FMI Annual Monday Night Reception and Dinner and three night hotel accommodations in Chicago, May 2 – 4. The four grand prize winners will be announced at the dinner where each will receive a $1,000 check.
