LOS ANGELES, CA – MAY 14, 2014 – Sabor Latino Food Industry Trade Show today announced its participation with the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) on a 2015 initiative to bring together their signature events in Chicago. FMI Connect and the Sabor Latino food show will further demonstrate the power of food through community.
“Chicago has the nation’s fifth largest Hispanic population and Hispanics make up a little over 21 percent of Chicago’s population, including the business sector,” said Lilly Rocha, show director for the Sabor Latino Food Show. “Hispanic food products have not only been on the rise in most of the traditionally high–density Hispanic cities like Los Angeles, New York and Miami, but are a staple in most of the country.”
FMI President and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin commented on the relationship, saying, “Sabor Latino food show is a natural partner to FMI Connect, as it embodies the changing face and palate of the customer. Food retailers aware of the increasing consumer demand for international flavors and dishes will be thrilled with the addition of Sabor Latino to the FMI Connect experience.”
The Sabor Latino food industry trade show will feature Hispanic exhibitors at the 2015 FMI Connect show at McCormick Center in Chicago. Along with exhibits, the show will offer presentations on Hispanic demographics, data, consumer buying patterns, and health and wellness. Sabor Latino provides a platform for grocers, restaurateurs, schools, hotels, hospitals, and foodservice professionals to engage with food suppliers and manufacturers wishing to tap and grow in the lucrative Hispanic market.
