Food Marketing Institute (FMI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Matz, as director, food and health policy. Matz will lead issue development and advocacy efforts in the food and health legislative areas on the government relations team.
His diverse background in legislative and regulatory strategy as well as communications enables him to represent the food retail industry’s interests on Capitol Hill and with regulators. Matz has spent the past decade at OFW Law as a government relations advisor where he guided regulatory affairs and legislative strategies for companies and trade associations across the food, beverage and agriculture sectors.
FMI Chief Public Policy Officer, and Senior Vice President of Government Relations, Jennifer Hatcher, commented on Matz’s new role at FMI, saying, “Peter is an accomplished, versatile public policy and communications expert whose passion for food and nutrition complements his track record for consensus-building on Capitol Hill. We look forward to having him join the FMI team.”
