Building up to the 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health, FMI members collaborated to develop bold commitments to help end hunger and improve overall nutrition and health in our country. FMI’s commitments were announced as part of the Conference in September. These commitments align with the priorities identified by the White House to improve food access, reduce diet-related disease, and empower consumers to make healthy choices.
With dedicated day-to-day operations across the food industry, we know that FMI members are working hard to achieve these goals related to food donations and nutrition messaging for consumers. Now it is time to band together to gather metrics, report numbers, and show our collective progress.
FMI members will donate 2 billion meals to support nourishing communities in 2023.
FMI members will reach 100 million consumers with evidence-based nutrition messaging in 2023.
As FMI President and CEO Leslie Sarasin stated, “It will take all of us working together to achieve these goals; I have full confidence in the food industry’s spirit of innovation and collaboration to not only reach these goals, but far exceed them. We look forward to continuing to work with the White House, members of Congress, our industry partners and other stakeholders to ensure all Americans have access to healthy, nourishing foods.”
And now, to continue our work advocating on behalf of the entire food industry, we need your input to report progress towards these goals to the White House. Please take the opportunity to band together in this mission by completing this form by May 1st. Don’t miss out!
Note: All input will remain anonymous to be reported as total aggregate numbers without reference to company names.
