The “New Year, New You” theme will resonate strongly with participants as they embark on a four-month journey that begins with establishing a strong foundation in leadership skills. By delving into modules that explore effective communication, team dynamics, conflict resolution, inclusion and adaptability, leaders will practice the essential qualities needed to succeed in the grocery sector.
Real-world simulations ensure the skills acquired are not just theoretical, but directly applicable to the challenges faced by the next generation of food industry leaders. Exercises in self-reflection focus on identifying and defining participants’ own leadership styles. Leaders are encouraged to step outside of their comfort zones, be innovative and “think outside the aisle” as they guide their teams through various scenarios.
The 2024 Future Leaders eXperience has a planned emphasis on building a collaborative community. Participants engage in six live virtual meetings, each bookended by pre- and post-session assignments, including watching videos, passing knowledge checks and discussing course themes in discussion area available to all attendees. With a predicted 350 to 400 next generation industry leaders in attendance, plus more than 20 team coaches representing all areas of the grocery sector, there are many opportunities for participants to connect with their cohort. The social learning elements enhance the overall experience and provide a supportive network for future endeavors.
